Sam McCool's New Pittsburghese (Softcover)5 Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Jacqueline M. - December 18th 2006

I felt it was necessary to thank you and the author,Sam McCool, for bringing some nostalgia into my life. The book Pittsburghese brings tears to my eyes as rememberances flash before me.

I have lived in other areas of the country and I am always amazed that my accent and verbage seem to be recognized by either a former Pittsburgh resident or someone they may know.

Currently, I am writing a fictional novel, "Magnificent Desperation",which dates back to 1944 and includes the years from then until the early 1960s. The novel includes religion, class differences, steel workers, mental illness, history of the land, and hidden lifestyles. A majority of the contents are true but due to a few negative events, names must be changed. I am very excited!

Hopefully, you will recognize many of the events and places which I mention and enjoy reading my book as I have enjoyed reading yours.
